Always: remove the public always!
zany130ParticipantRemove the public from the Url in onlinemedia.xml
zany130ParticipantGo in output settings page. You don’t need to change the code
zany130ParticipantWhen the protocol is rtmp or rtmpe you need rtmpdump…. otherwise use the normal “add a new link”.
zany130ParticipantTry to use 11.04 installer, even in 10.10.
To clean previous installations (done through sh installer), use this command:
./vlc-shares_0.5.4_ubuntu-installer.sh uninstall
Then use the script for ubuntu 11.04 (even if you are in ubuntu 10.10)
zany130ParticipantPlaylist type is plx. An example in the ticket: http://www.wiimc.org/tracker/index.php?do=details&task_id=371

Thanks ximarx! Maybe HLS could be a built-in feature of an upcoming release of VLC-Shares.
On a side note, I have run into what I think is a bug in Android 3.0 (or possibly my Asus eee Transformer) that is harshing my HLS buzz. If anyone else could confirm this bug on another Android 3.0 device that would be helpful.
When a stable version of VLC with support for HTTP live streaming comes out, I will add it. Now, only git version of 1.2 has it, right?
zany130ParticipantGood to know. Anyway, look like wiimc truncates a list of 800 items. Some users of another forum reported me that a list generated by animedb plugin (817items) is truncated near the 400th item.
Can some kind of memory leak reduce the available memory for the playlist parser after a bit maybe?
zany130ParticipantWell done!

Although the Pagination addition is nice, it is a bit cumbersome to use with long lists. For example, I came across a list of movies that had 26 “pages” to it. Just my luck, the media title I was looking for was on page 20. It was a chore to scroll down each page (starting with page 1) to the bottom and select then select “>>>Next page (“x”/26)>>>… 20 times until I got to the title.
Is there an easier way that I may have over looked?
Or maybe some other way that one could at least jump to a page…
Great work tho… The new features are very nice !
No. Unfortunately there isn’t a way for jump to a specific page. The only thing you can do to reduce a bit the problem is set the “per-page items” setting to an bigger value (from the vlc-shares configs page, in the helpers section). The default one is 25 item per page. Try changing it to 50 or even 60. Wiimc should be able to handle 60 item per page without go out of memory.
zany130ParticipantPHP Notice != errors …
Anyway:
$ rtmpdump -r "rtmp://cp59069.live.edgefcs.net:1935/live?ovpfv=1.1" -y "Flash-Itele-800@8998" -s "http://player.canalplus.fr/site/flash/player.swf" -p "http://www.itele.fr/direct" -o test.flv

zany130ParticipantThe log is useless. Unfortunately no useful info into it. Start installing vlc-shares again from scratch (download the tarball again, maybe your download is corrupted). If you still get this kind of error, add me in gtalk or msn. It’s faster discuss about this over there.
Test page is correctly translated because it’s the only page without translation: is hardcoded into english 😀

Anyway, give more information. Permissions are ok?
